Questioning Society

Questioning Society

Saffia Ouali

What we- society- lack as a whole,

Perhaps is more difficult than before,

Like the torn pieces of a broken soul,

We somehow think it is all right for more.

What we continue to do as we fail,

Is a disgrace within our lengthy flaws,

Though some feel the need to claim to prevail,

And yet, we have never taken a pause.

What society believes is correct,

Is somehow an instrument of the ill,
As we fall back on what is incorrect,

Asking what there is further to fulfill.

If we perceive where we took a bad turn,

It may be so that we somehow can learn.
