We have been through a lot.

Our democracy has been put to the test.

At certain times, we have been more divided than before.

Except life does not have to be this way.

We do not have to allow hate to divide our society.

We do not have to allow violence to hurt our peoples.

We do not have to allow bias to determine our beliefs.

We have to stand up for who we are, who we need to be, and who we aspire to be.

We have to allow peace to bring together our society.

We have to allow respect to help our connected peoples.

We have to allow wisdom to determine our opinions.

We have to come together and prove we are one.

We have to come together and prove to ourselves that we are one.

We have to come together and prove to the world that we are one.

We have to lead by example.

We have to set a foundation for future generations.

We have to be the voices of the future.

If we attempt to make things better, and make the world a safer, healthier, happier, and better place for every person,

Only then are we one united people of brothers and sisters.

But until such a time comes, we must ask ourselves, Is this who we are?
