The Pfizer vaccine was authorized for use in people ages 16 and up in December. 2020 The FDA has now amended the authorization to include children ages 12 to 15. The two Pfizer vaccine doses would be exactly the same as what is given to adults, three weeks apart, FDA officials said. Much like vaccinations for young adults, Pfizer’s COVID vaccine could bring some mild, but not concerning, side effects for kids as well, health officials say.

Possible side effects would be pain, redness, and swelling in the arm where you got the shot. Other possible side effects would be tiredness, headache, muscle pain, chills, fever, and nausea. These side effects happen within a day or two of getting the vaccine. They are normal signs that your body is building protection and should go away within a few days.
