Thanksgiving is a staple holiday in America and everyone celebrates differently. Some people celebrate with family and others with friends. No matter what way you celebrate chances are there is a lot of food. I’m going to try and review three staple Thanksgiving foods. I’ve never had any of these foods so I’ll be trying and reviewing these for the first time. I am reviewing these foods based on three categories: how easy it was to eat and get on my plate, taste and texture, and looks.
For my first food, I’ll be trying corn casserole. I thought that the corn casserole was quite disgusting. The corn was hard and wet and not easy to chew at all and the bread was wet, mushy, and overall falling apart. The combo of the wet, hard corn and the falling apart, mushy bread was not pleasant. The corn casserole didn’t even look appealing, it looked chunky, raw, and soggy. The top layer stayed attached to the crust while the middle was falling out in chunks. The corn would fall off and bring the dough with it leaving unappetizing chunks all over my plate. I could barely scoop the corn casserole let alone eat it. When I tried to scoop it up I couldn’t get it onto the spoon and when it finally did the casserole wouldn’t come off and even after all the effort of getting it on and off the spoon I barely got any on the plate. Overall I would not recommend this at all and I give it one and a half stars.
The second food is Turkey. The turkey was ok. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible. It was dry and hard to pull apart to eat. The slices were thin and very easy to chew. I thought that the taste was ok but it could be better. It was a little bit hard to cut but very easy to chew. I was expecting to get some caught in my teeth but I was delighted when I found no meat in between any of my teeth. It wasn’t so thin that it would fall apart but wasn’t as thick as I would have liked. It didn’t look or smell very appealing. It was very white and the edges were dark brown which I found gross. The ends were wispy making it seem like it would fall apart when I tried to grab it. Overall I give the turkey three stars.
For my final food, I’m going to try and review canned cranberry sauce. At first glance, I thought it looked unappetizing. The cranberry sauce was very easy to cut and put on my plate, it broke apart a little bit but I was still able to get it onto the plate. It was a little hard to get onto my fork but I managed to get it on. The texture was mushy but still solid enough to chew. It tasted angelic and sweet but not too sweet, the cranberry sauce was very fruity. The cranberry sauce had a very nice color to it, and it looked very smooth. I liked that it was very easy to eat and tasted great. Overall I would give cranberry sauce four and three-fourths stars.
Overall I would give the entire meal three and a half stars. I enjoyed the cranberry sauce and the turkey was ok, but the corn casserole ruined the meal. I would not eat corn casserole again but I would eat turkey again. I loved the cranberry sauce so much that I would probably eat it every day. I can’t recommend this meal as a whole, but as separate items, I could recommend the turkey and cranberry sauce. I hope you enjoyed my review!

Funny! You didn’t mention the homemade cranberry sauce which everyone hates except Aunt Betty who makes it every year!
