“A New Normal”

A New Normal

Students slowly inching themselves back into buildings,

teachers adjusting to teaching students in class and at home,

administrators keeping a close eye on the statistics.

Many hoping that this pandemic unwinds,

that we can resume activities,

that we can feel safe in crowds,

that we can turn the page so as to start a new time in history.

Statistics showing relatively optimistic data,

though we must remain vigilant,

perhaps the data will continue to reveal a path in the right direction.

Too long has passed before some considered

mental,

social,

emotional,

physical

health to be of top priority, alongside safety.

We must unite to overcome the pandemic,

persist in our efforts to slow the spread,

continue to respect the safety of one another,

so that we may once again return to

normal.
